"I sang a lot with Placido Domingo and I had a wonderful relationship with him, I've never seen these things happen": said Cecilia Gasdia, soprano and Superintendent of the Arena di Verona Foundation, regarding the new allegations of harassment launched against the famous tenor by a Spanish singer in an Iberian television program.
"It doesn't seem to me that Placido Domingo has ever been tried for anything," added Gasdia, who in the evening attended a promotional event for the 100th Arena festival at the Italian Cultural Institute in Madrid.
Domingo is invited as one of Arena's big guests next season.
"He's certainly a very fascinating man, even now that he's over 80", concluded Gasdia referring to the Spanish tenor: "He's loved by the audience at the Arena".
