The young Swedish environmental activist was arrested on Tuesday in Germany, following a demonstration against a project to expand a coal mine, police said.
"The group (of demonstrators, Ed) is in custody," said a police spokeswoman, adding that the anti-coal activists had headed "to the edge of the mine".
Photos also showed the activist being evacuated by the police.
