The injuries sustained by Jeremy Renner when a 'snowcat' ran over him on New Year's Day outside his Lake Tahoe area home were "much more serious" than reported: it will take two years - according to a source to 'Radar Online' before
the Marvel actor
can make a full recovery.
"Jeremy is aware
that he almost died that day
," said the source, reconstructing the dynamics of the incident.
Renner was helping a motorist stranded in the blizzard when his Kässbohrer Pisten snow blower began to move slowly by itself and ran over him, crushing his leg as the actor struggled to get back behind the wheel.
Jeremy was having
severe difficulty breathing and was bleeding profusely from his head
.
The chest had been crushed by the vehicle, according to the story of a rescuer recovered by TMZ.
"The damage to the chest was so severe that it was reconstructed in the operating room," Radar Online reported.
The actor has undergone other surgeries so far, but it's only the beginning: other
operations will be necessary
to get him back on his feet, but the doctors prefer to space them out to allow the body time to recover naturally.
