A month before the César ceremony, the Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques, in partnership with Chanel, organized the Revelations dinner in honor of the 31 most promising actors and actresses of 2023.

Celebrating cinema and its new faces: such is the promise of the Révélations dinner, organized at the Trianon this Monday, January 16 in Paris.

An evening which brought together the 31 actors and actresses likely to compete for the Césars for the best male and female hope, as well as their famous godfathers and godmothers of cinema.

Orchestrated by the Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques, in partnership with Chanel, the event gave this new promotion the opportunity to meet, but also to discover the short film specially produced by Audrey Diwan.

For this clip, the director of the

Event

(carried by Anamaria Vartolomei, winner of the César for best female hope last year) looked at the moment that precedes the entry into the light of these young talents.

"The idea was to confront, to question what they are each in life and the way they present themselves in the image, exploring the whole range of feelings that go through them at this precise moment: fear, 'excitement, tension or envy' she explained.

On the big screen and to music by Abd Al Malik, guests were able to discover the actors who marked 2022 in

Les Amandiers

, La nuit du 12, Une fille qui va bien, Les Pires or Mes frères et moi.

... And if some of them had never played in the cinema before, others, more experienced, knew how to stand out in powerful first roles on the big screen.

A diversity that promises a rich and inspiring generation for directors.

Meetings and reunions

During the dinner orchestrated by chef Burno Oger, guests were able to enjoy flame-roasted scallops, roast turbot followed by a pot of dark chocolate cream.

Happy to be reunited, the novices and their elders did not wait for the end of the dinner to go and greet each other: we could thus see Leïla Bekhti congratulate Guslagie Malanda for her performance in the film

Saint Omer,

while she herself had just expressed her admiration for Nadia Tereszkiewicz

(The Almond

Trees ).

The latter found Rebecca Marder (

A young girl who is well

) to whom she recently gave the reply in the next film by François Ozon.

And took advantage of this unique dinner to get to know her godmother, Marion Cotillard, while Mallory Wanecque (

Les Pires

) had a long chat with her good fairy Virginie Efira.

In the Parisian theatre, transformed into a place of celebration for one night, reigned a soft, benevolent atmosphere, without any spirit of competition.

Why ?

The 31 Revelations do not yet know the names of the 10 actors and actresses who will arrive, in the end, until the Cesar ceremony.

A last drink

At the end of the dinner, while the conversations were going well, Juliette Binoche and Sandrine Kiberlain were talking on a corner of the table, Michel Hazanavicius was enthusiastically meeting Romain Duris (both are respectively the godfathers of Lina El Arabi, seen in

The Best

, and Paul Kircher, the hero of Le

Lycéen

), while the rest of the guests moved slowly towards the lobby of the Trianon transformed into a cocktail bar for the occasion.

We observed Éric Lartigau clinking glasses with Bastien Bouillon (

La nuit du 12

), Dali Benssalah forming a small group with Karim Leklou and Shaïn Boumedine (

Placed

), Souheila Yacoub (

Entre les vague

) having fun with his friend Stefan Crepon (

Peter Van Kanto

) or Marina Foïs laughing with Jonathan Cohen and his godson, the young Maël Rouin-Berrandou (

My brothers and me

).

Next to the photocall, Lætitia Dosch and Vincent Macaigne fondly remembered having been in the place of the young aspirants 10 years earlier, while Clara Bretheau (

Les Amandiers

), surrounded by Kayije Kagame (

Saint Omer

), Capucine Valmory (

Le Torrent

), Lou Lampros (

My Night

) and others, immortalized this evening with a happy group photo.

Verdict: next February 24 at the Olympia during the 48th Cesar ceremony chaired by Tahar Rahim.

But the 2023 generation is already establishing itself as tight-knit and full of energy.
