Starting the new year with good resolutions – does that sound familiar to you?

It is not uncommon for this to involve more sport, a healthier diet and weight.

This is the case for me again this year.

Since the corona pandemic, my physical constitution has been declining little by little.

The reasons: Less exercise, lots of food cravings and – unsurprisingly – more weight on the scales.

Anyone who – like me – wants to lose weight is receptive to diets and programs.

One hopes for quick success and, in the best case, no “yo-yo effect”.

Well, what can I say: Here I am and I want to lose weight again!

New attempt with a new program: The "21-day kickstart desired weight" weight loss course was developed by experts in medicine and psychology and promises a different kind of program because it goes back to the teachings of Ayurveda.

In 21 days it's not just about physical hunger, but also about mental hunger.

Sounds exciting, I want to test it.

But there are also some interesting facts about the annoying belly fat.

So for the next three weeks I will be your test subject.

In this article, I will take you on my journey to a feel-good weight.

The special thing about “21-day kickstart desired weight”: You should not stand on the scales during the entire period.

This prevents frustration when the weight doesn't go down.

21-day kickstart desired weight - this is how the Ayurvedic weight loss course is structured

The weight loss program was developed by Dr.

Ulrich Bauhofer and Dr.

Sepideh Ravahi developed.

dr

Bauhofer is Germany's best-known Ayurveda doctor.

dr

Ravahi is a graduate psychologist and psychotherapist.

Through the interaction of the two experts, the human being is considered as a whole.

Both physical and mental aspects are taken into account.

Course participants should be able to lose weight permanently and live healthier.

The "21-Day Kickstart Desired Weight" weight loss course uses this formula for success:

  • An Ayurvedic health and dosha test takes place in advance.

Here course participants can find out which dosha type they are - vata, kapha or pitta.

You will learn more about your body, your personality and what you really need to feel good.

  • Daily step-by-step guide with tips & tricks

  • Daily videos with explanations from the two experts Dr.

    Ulrich Bauhofer and Dr.

    Sepideh Ravahi

  • A detailed nutrition compass with important guidelines for the next 21 days.

During this period, breakfast should be replaced by warm lemon water.

Intermittent fasting offers many advantages, as the Ayurveda doctor reveals.

  • A cookbook with many delicious recipes from Ayurvedic medicine.

Prepare delicious curries, tasty soups and drinks.

What are the three dosha types?

Ayurvedic medicine distinguishes between three dosha types: Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

All three types combine the different elements, i.e. earth, water, fire, air and ether - but in different proportions.

While Vata refers to space and air and thus stands for movement, the Pitta dosha is dominated by fire and water.

Pitta therefore stands for metabolism.

The Kapha dosha is dominated by earth and water, it is supposed to give structure and stability to our body.

All human beings combine these three dosha types.

One type is more pronounced in one person than in another.

The doshas have a great influence on our physical and mental well-being.

But also on our health, likes, dislikes, food tolerance and metabolism.

The "21-day kickstart desired weight" begins: my initial situation

My current situation can be described simply: I have a few kilos too much on my ribs!

Not only do my feelings and the daily look in the mirror tell me that, the facts agree with my – pun intended – gut feeling.

The scale shows 88.2 kg.

At a height of 1.83 m, that's just too much.

At the

BMI calculator of the German Obesity Society

I end up with a score of 26.3 in the overweight weight classification.

Of course, the body mass index is not the ultimate answer.

Nevertheless, it serves for a better assessment.

On the advice of my family doctor, I should slim down a bit, since my cholesterol levels (CH at 284, LDL at 173) are also too high.

My triglyceride level (neutral fats) in the blood is also increased at 300 mg/dl.

This value can be reduced through exercise, weight loss, abstinence from alcohol and other changes.

It's not that I'm unsportsmanlike - on the contrary, but I've also been more active.

With the beginning of the corona pandemic, workouts in the gym were no longer available.

Last year I had to fight Corona myself.

Many health problems made me jog only 475 km in 2022.

Yes, that's not a little, but in 2021 I had over 1,000 km on the clock and felt fitter, healthier and more balanced.

I want to build on that again in the new year.

The weight loss program starts: I expect these challenges

Whether it's a daily fitness routine or a diet, every class has its challenges.

I'm also put to the test at the "21-day kickstart desired weight":

  • Give up sweets!

Giving up chocolate will be the biggest challenge.

    I love chocolate.

Whether it's a bar or pralines - the minimum shelf life is usually two days, then the pack is empty.

Now I have to do without it for three weeks.

  • The new daily routine!

At "21-day kickstart desired weight" should be omitted breakfast.

Instead, there is half a liter of warm lemon water.

Then before lunch a lassi, the Indian yoghurt drink.

Lassi is the Ayurvedic intestinal nurse.

In addition, I should also avoid snacks in the afternoon.

Since I usually eat breakfast, it will take a few days for my body to adjust.

  • How about sports?

Since I'm not allowed to eat anything between lunch and the evening meal, I'm curious to see how efficient I will be in sports.

Especially when jogging, I like to run for time and want to step on the gas.

  • Lunch topic: In this Ayurvedic weight loss program, a lot of value is placed on fresh vegetables.

The dishes should be freshly prepared and cooked al dente, heating or even microwave is not recommended.

I still have to see how this can be reconciled with everyday working life.

Diary – my kickstart to a feel-good weight

The ingredients are bought, the dosha test and the preparations are complete.

Now the time has come: My 21 days begin on Thursday (05.01.23).

I will try to complete the weight loss program by January 25th.

I'd love to take you on my weight loss journey and write about my experience with the 21 Day Kickstart Weight Loss Course.

    Day 1, 01/05/23:

I slept well and am tackling this challenge with full motivation.

To start the day there is a glass of warm lemon water with honey to boost the metabolism.

Then it's off to the office!

From 10:30 a.m. the stomach growls, sometimes quite violently.

But a glass of hot water quickly silences him.

Still, I'm looking forward to lunch.

Before the meal there is a homemade lassi.

    Days 2-4:

    The first weekend is over!

In fact, my body adjusted to the new structures very quickly.

The hunger in the morning is limited - sometimes I only ate at 2 p.m. - and the afternoon slump stays away.

I feel completely fine and went jogging twice.

The first big challenge awaited me on Sunday afternoon.

With the family we went to a Bavarian inn.

I had to keep my hands off tea instead of wheat beer and the delicious Kaiserschmarrn.

    Pass an exam!

    Days 5 & 6:

I continue to feel great and slimmer!

I can feel that and so can those around me.

The stomach is still growling in the morning, but with a glass of hot water every hour you can easily bridge the waiting time for lunch.

Speaking of lunch: I'm still faced with the big challenge of how to organize it when I'm in the office.

Since heated food is not recommended, I cannot prepare anything and take it with me.

    Days 7 & 8:

The weight loss course "21-Day Kickstart Desired Weight" is in its second week and I still feel very good and fit.

Dinner is currently being cooked very consciously and great care is taken to ensure that fresh food is served.

At lunch, Chinese dishes are currently alternating with Indian and Vietnamese.

Here I am still looking for more variety without needing the microwave.

All in all, I see myself on a very good path.

But the weekend is just around the corner...

    Days 9 to 11:

    I have sinned!

A family trip to Hamburg was planned for the weekend.

Of course I treated myself to one or two delicacies.

But I was aware of that even before I started the weight loss course.

But sightseeing is also a lot on your feet, so I walked almost 27 kilometers in the past three days.

The last few days may have thrown me back a bit, but now I'm going full throttle into the second half of the program.
