A helicopter crashed today near a kindergarten and residential buildings in the city of Brovary, in the Kiev region: the accident caused 16 deaths, including two children.
the governor of the region, Oleksiy Kuleba, and the National Police made it known on Telegram.
"In the city of Brovary, a helicopter crashed near a kindergarten and a residential building, there are victims. At the time of the tragedy, there were children and employees of the institution in the kindergarten. Everyone was evacuated. Ambulances, police and firefighters are working on the scene of the accident", wrote Kuleba, while police sources quoted by local media informed that at the moment the toll of the accident is 16 dead, including two children
According to preliminary information, a fire broke out in the kindergarten.
On the other hand, Daria Herasymchuk, Ukrainian presidential adviser for children's rights and rehabilitation said that since the beginning of the invasion, last February 24, Russia has kidnapped nearly 14,000 Ukrainian children.
"We have managed to identify and verify the data of at least 13,899 children kidnapped and deported by the Russian army and sadly, we can say that only 125 (of them) managed to return home."
The Kiev authorities have been denouncing for months that Moscow has been deporting part of the population in the regions that have been occupied to Russian locations.
