The Swedish furniture store raises prices.
The reasons given by Ikea are increased purchase prices for the range.
But the costs of energy and transport are also a problem for the Swedes.
Munich – Ikea is significantly increasing prices for bed frames, a popular gaming desk, sofas and wardrobes.
That reports the
picture.
To do this, the newspaper compared the current prices of the products with those from a year ago.
"Some of the most popular items have doubled in price," says the report.
Beds and desks are particularly affected.
But shelves like the popular Billy shelf are also growing - by a whopping 53 percent.
It now costs 59.99 euros.
The double PAX cabinet increases in price to 525 euros.
According to the image
, the customers of the furniture store previously had to
pay 349 euros for it.
Ikea is increasing the prices extremely for these ten products:
product | price in euro | price increase |

These price increases are likely to shock many customers of the furniture store.
Only at the end of last year did the Swedes annoy their customers.
The popular Billy shelf was once again sold out.
And the Ikea candles also caused negative headlines and attention on social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
The reaction to the
picture
report on the price increase follows promptly.
Twitter users show little understanding for this.
A user inquires about the hot dog price, another user is glad he didn't buy there anyway.
“Russian wood was the cheapest thing you could buy.
It's like oil and gas," commented another user with ironic amusement.
Ikea is turning the price screw: purchase prices, energy and transport are making popular products more expensive
The rising prices are no joke.
Ikea is getting serious and is also increasing the prices for other sofas, beds, wardrobes, desks, tables, armchairs, chairs and shelves from the existing Ikea range.
The reason given by the Swedes is the current economic challenges such as increased purchase prices.
This applies not only to its own range, but also to energy and transport, reports the
picture.
Nevertheless, the Swedes want to remain affordable for many people.
The company does not want to rule out further price increases at the moment.
For example, there are no current statistics from the Residential and Office Trade Association for price trends in other German furniture stores such as Mömax.
The Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden shows a price increase of 7.9 percent for furniture and lighting in 2022 compared to the previous year.
