(ANSA) - ROME, 18 JAN - "Working all together to address and govern migratory flows is fundamental, especially in terms of preventing departures, which is why we are grateful to the Tunisian authorities for the commitment they already make in exercising control of departures and we hope that these activities can be further intensified. In this sense, the stability and economic growth of the Tunisian Republic are elements of crucial common interest. Italy is playing its part, with over 900 companies present in the country."
This was stated by the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, on a state visit to Tunisia on a joint mission with his foreign minister, Antonio Tajani.
Piantedosi spoke of an "extremely profitable mission. We already have a privileged relationship with Tunisia and today's talks with the President of the Republic Saied and with my counterpart Charfeddine were useful for further strengthening the level of bilateral cooperation between our countries".
