The Dogal company, which is affiliated with the Amram Avraham company and the Shai Hai holding company, this week began the demolition of the existing buildings in the old water park, Luna-Gal, on the Golan beach in the Kinneret, after recently receiving a demolition permit from the Golan regional committee.

The company will build a luxury resort with 150 rooms on the Sea of Galilee.

The company estimates that the construction works will begin in the coming months.

The resort, which is expected to attract domestic tourism from Israel and international tourism, will spread over a huge complex of about 60 dunams, and was purchased about 3 years ago. The hotel planned for construction will include two completely separate wings: a wing for families that will include 75 rooms and a wing for couples that will include 75 rooms additional, with the highlight being a private pool and hot tub in each room. Each wing will have a separate entrance lobby and dining room that will ensure an intimate atmosphere, alongside other luxury facilities including a chef's restaurant, a pool, a spa complex and treatments, and a gym. In addition, the hotel will include a hall for hosting conferences and events, a complex Water sports and an attraction complex that will be open to hotel guests and the public.

The hotel's proximity to national sites, including the Kinneret Circumference Trail and a beach open to the public, will allow the hotel to continue to maintain these sites at a high level and keep them open for the enjoyment of all travelers and vacationers.

The hotel and restaurant will be managed by Kerem Hotels, which specializes in luxury hotel management and operates boutique hotels, including the Gordonia Hotel in Ma'aleh Hamishme and the Alma Hotel in Zichron Ya'akov.

The hotel was designed by Feigin Architects, one of the leading architecture firms in Israel, which has designed over 100 hotels and will include a combination of natural local materials such as basalt stones and motifs from the Sea of Galilee.

The interior design of the hotel will be done by the designers Ari Sheltiel and Ruth Arad.

The mythical Luna-Gal Park on the Golan coast, on the northeastern side of the Sea of Galilee, operated for about four decades and was closed about two years ago, after standing desolate for a long time.

In its peak days, it hosted over a quarter of a million vacationers per season.

According to Noam Greif, CEO of Amram Avraham, "We are working to expand the company's growth engines as part of a strategic plan we formulated for the coming years, and in the process, the company is deepening its activities in the hotel sector.

The hotel on the Golan Beach in the Kinneret, in one of the most touristic areas in Israel, caters to local and international tourism and will offer, in addition to exclusive planning, additional services that allow guests a complete experience for a vacation or retreat in a place including the highest level of accommodation with a restaurant and advanced activity centers."

Gadi Priber CEO and owner Kerem Hotels "This is a unique luxury hotel in its location, standards and the experience it provides.

We are establishing the hotel with the understanding that each wing serves its unique target audience and provides a complete experience that suits its needs.

In this way, parents and children can play in the pool or a ninja facility or ropes and enjoy a family vacation, and couples looking for peace and a relaxed atmosphere can enjoy a romantic atmosphere."

Halona Gal was opened in 1984 on the northeastern side of the Sea of Galilee, and was the first water park in Israel.

The park included a variety of attractions, including slides for children, fast water slides, tubing and a host of other facilities.

It was established in an area of about 40 dunams by five settlements from the Golan Heights under joint ownership: Eliad, Givat Yoav, Neot Golan, Anyam and Ma'ale Gamla.

Following a decrease in income and problematic trends in the management of the funds on the site, Halona Gal was taken into receivership.

In the summer of 1992, the Luna Gal was purchased by Moshav Knaf and was jointly owned by the Moshav and Dogal Initiatives and Investments Ltd.

In 2017, the Ministry of Health issued a closure order to the park due to sanitation deficiencies, and two years later, some of the facilities stopped operating.

The popularity of the park decreased greatly and in 2019 it closed permanently as a result of a decrease in the number of visitors and competition with the water parks that arose in the central area.
