The Minister of Health explained that this type of dose contains two variants of the coronavirus, an innovation from the laboratories. She also announced when it will start to apply.

The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, announced this Thursday in the Casa Rosada conference room the incorporation of

a new stock of bivalent vaccines against Covid-19

to the booster dose application strategy.

Bivalent vaccines are those that contain two variants of the coronavirus, an innovation from the laboratories that produce this type of immunizers.

In this way, the minister affirmed that between

today and tomorrow one million one hundred thousand doses of Pfizer will arrive in the country

.

Then in the week of February 6, around three million Moderna will be received.

While on February 13 it will be another million two hundred thousand more from the Pfizer vaccine.

"Distribution begins next week, this will reach the provinces that will then distribute it to all regions. As always, each province will announce the start of vaccination as appropriate," Vizzotti said.

And he added: "All the vaccines are safe and effective. We have been saying that the circulation of the variants is very dynamic and the beneficial effect on hospitalizations and deaths has been demonstrated," he said.

He also encouraged the population to get vaccinated for all those who have passed more than four months since the last vaccine.

In the latest official report, released last Monday, the Ministry of Health recorded 89 deaths from coronavirus and 19,416 infections in the last week in Argentina.

According to the data released, the number of deaths increased 14% compared to the previous report, when 78 deaths had been reported.
