A mother was shocked when she found out that she had become pregnant twice, only five days apart.

In a TikTok video that surprised many, she revealed how her twins, Imelda and Lilo, were created several days apart but born at the same time.

The viewers of the video were shocked, because they had no idea that such a thing was even possible.

The mother, who posts on TikTok under the name @lilo_imelda_twins, said she found out about this unexpected gap during her first ultrasound, when the doctor measured the fetuses.

Up until this point, she believed that twins were created at the same time or "when the mother's egg splits in two," as she noted in the video.

The mother said: "Honestly, I didn't really process that information because I was just shocked that I had twins. Later I was just a little confused... I didn't know you could conceive days or even weeks apart."

She added: "We tried to have a baby - we did Imelda without knowing that Leo was already there. To give you the context, it was in 2020 during the lockdown, so me and my husband had a lot of free time. Even before that we experienced a quiet birth, so we tried to conceive a baby and I Guess we tried a little too much."

Although the news came as a bit of a surprise, to say the least, she is now "grateful for it".

The mother ended the video with the comments she received: "Someone commented on one of my videos and said she got pregnant 13 days apart. There was also someone who said she got pregnant from two different people a few days apart, so be careful out there!".
