The Nuorese woke up for the second day under the snow, which today also made its appearance in the capital of Barbagia: the mayor of Nuoro Andrea Soddu has ordered the closure of the schools which since yesterday have not taught even in the mountain villages of the area.

The mayor has also set up a telephone number, available 24 hours a day, to help frail people, the elderly or anyone who needs assistance or travel.

Meanwhile, the serious blackout that affected the 5 highest villages in Sardinia for the whole day due to the lines brought down under the weight of the snow - Desulo, Tonara, Gadoni, Belvì and Aritzo - was resolved between yesterday evening and the first hours this morning, but not quite.
