Pizza Hut, the famous American pizza chain has decided to celebrate the return to the market of its 'Big New Yorker' - an enormous pizza with cheese and 'pepperoni' (very popular spicy salami in the USA) - entering the Guinness Book of Records with the biggest pizza ever made.
And she succeeded, creating a pizza with cheese and 'pepperoni' of almost 1,300 square meters in a hangar in Los Angeles.
CNN writes it, adding that a Guinness official confirmed that it is an all-time record.
The work began on Wednesday and ended on Friday: the employees first rolled out the dough, then put on the tomato sauce, then the salami.
In total, there were 6,193 kilos of pasta, 2,244 kilos of sauce, just under 4,000 kilos of cheese and 630,496 slices of salami, according to a Pizza Hut release.
Company CEO David Graves said the 68,000 slices the pizza was cut into will not be wasted but donated to kitchens helping those in need in Los Angeles.
The previous record, recalls CNN, belonged to Roman pizza makers who in 2012 created the colossal Ottavia pizza, 1,261.55 square meters, and gluten-free, in a pavilion of the Rome Fair.
