Since returning from Eurovision, Michael Ben David has embarked on a journey of self-discovery and establishing his identity as an artist.
Today he releases "Shim Gaz", one of several songs he has been working on in recent months.
"Put Gas" was written by Ben David together with Mittal de Razon, who composed it together with Assi Tal.
Although the song was born out of great pain, it actually sends an encouraging and uplifting message to everyone who needs a little good vibes, and is accompanied by a music video invested in the atmosphere of the seventies, which was filmed overseas.
"Immediately after the Eurovision, I started thinking about materials that I want to make - who I am as an artist and what is important to me to convey," shares Ben David, "the whole genre of disco and the vibe of the past is coming back today, and I wanted to bring something that brings that and suits my voice."
He says about the song: "On the one hand, the song deals with love that can break the heart, and on the other hand, it says - 'We move on, the age of pain is over', hence the name of the song. With all the sorrow and crises, we want to enjoy life and get up to celebrate."
A little tip for Noa Kirel before she leaves?
"Noa, in my opinion, is the only person to whom you don't need to say a word. She is as hardworking as a demon, and beyond her great talent, she is very smart and will know how to set herself apart from the others. I will sit in May and watch and say to myself, 'This is how you do it.'"
