Eli Cohen, who served in the last months as CEO of the company, was appointed to the position permanently • "We will lead the organization to achievements for the benefit of the entire public"

Has the rush in general come to an end?

After half a year without a permanent CEO, Klalit's board of directors headed by Mr. Yochanan Loker unanimously approved today (Sunday), the recommendation of the search committee, to appoint Eli Cohen to the position of CEO of Klalit.

The Chairman of the Klalit Board of Directors, Yohanan Loker, welcomed the appointment: "Eli is the most worthy candidate to lead Klalit in the face of the many challenges at this time.

He started his career in general in 1997 and today he is chosen to lead it, thereby paving the way for those who come after him and is a source of inspiration for all employees.

I wish Eli great success in his role.

Together we will continue to move health services in Israel forward."

"Change of personal regulations"

Eli Cohen thanked the board of directors for the trust placed in him and added: "I am proud to head the company I grew up in. Together with the employees and managers, we will lead the entire organization to achievements, and all this for the sake of the patients and their health."

A month ago, former Minister of Health Nitzan Horowitz informed the General Assembly that he was considering its request to make a change in the fund's bylaws, a change that would allow the appointment of a CEO who has relatives who work at the fund, but this was conditional on additional changes that the General General did not wish to make.

In general, they asked to propose a change in the bylaws that would allow the appointment of Eli Cohen to the position of permanent CEO. Cohen's wife is the director of the construction division in General, something that has prevented him from being appointed as CEO until now.

There are already people in the cash register who call this a "change in personnel regulations".

Horvitz replied to Yohanan Loker that he is examining the change but asks him to consider making another change in the bylaws, so that the fund's employees will also be represented on the board of directors and the fund's council.
