Mother falls asleep while breastfeeding, died infant in Rome

The Rome Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation file for manslaughter in relation to the death of a newborn that occurred on the night between 7 and 8 January in the gynecology department of the Pertini hospital.

According to what Corriere della Sera writes today, the baby would have died crushed by his mother who fell asleep while breastfeeding.

The prosecutors ordered the autopsy.
