To date, the number of schools wishing to participate in the seventh edition of the Arab Reading Challenge initiative in Syria has reached 1,200 in all governorates, while online registration continues until the beginning of April.
During the honoring of the Ministry of Education for the competition coordinators in its sixth season in the governorates of Aleppo and As-Suwayda, Haneen Al-Abdullah, who won the third place in the Arab world, and engineer Muhammad Dahdouh, for the excellence of the Aleppo governorate’s participation in the competition, the general coordinator of the competition in Syria, Ali Al-Abbas, said in a statement to SANA reporter: “The ambition of the ministry is Reaching the participation of 5,000 schools before the end of registration, so that the Syrian participation this year will be as distinguished as the previous one.
He pointed to the great demand for registration for this season, after the success of participation last year, and the desire of most students to participate to enhance their reading culture, stressing that Sham Al-Bakour winning the title of Arab Reading Challenge Champion in the sixth edition added a great responsibility for the current season, to achieve excellence and deliver the message of reading. To all Syrian students.
Al-Abbas added, “The ministry has developed a complete plan for this season that includes goals, defining the work mechanism in the current season, and circulating it to the initiative coordinators in the governorates,” noting that what is new this year is the addition of a category for people with disabilities, so that they have their own prize to motivate them and enhance their thinking abilities. comparison, conclusion and trial.
Al-Abbas indicated that students wishing to register for the challenge can contact the school supervisor, who in turn communicates with the competition coordinator in his governorate.
