Alejandro Fiore: the simulator that spends the summer doing theater and the WhatsApp group of Lampone and company

2023-01-24T16:20:50.545Z

In Pinamar, he talks about the play in which he goes on stage once a month and anticipates the movie that will come from the television success.

The WhatsApp group is called “Los Simu”, says

Alejandro Fiore (50)

from the beach in Pinamar, where he went to spend the summer and do theater for a few days.

A couple just approached him while he was having lunch to ask him for a photo and the actor who played the endearing

Pablo Lampone

, a genius in sensitive logistics and a lover of nature, smiles as usual.

A hectic year will come, between personal projects, recordings and the return, after almost two decades, of

Los Simuladores

, for the first time, with a feature film.

"The truth is that we still don't know anything about the plot, because we haven't read the script yet," he admits from the Ufo Point hostel and anticipates that this will be around March, filming in July and

the premiere in March 2024

.

The cult television series Los Simuladores, directed by Damián Szifron (the same as Relatos Salvajes), premiered in March 2002 on Telefé, was later a boom on Netflix and will be brought to the big screen by Paramount+ at the hands of the group usual: Diego Peretti (Emilio Ravenna, characterization manager), Federico D'Elía (Mario Santos, logistics and planning), Martín Seefeld (Gabriel Medina, research) and Fiore (Pablo Lampone, technique and mobility).

We are very friends

.

The one I never stopped seeing myself with was Fede (D'Elía), with whom I recently finished recording ATAP (Argentina: Land of Love and Vengeance) in November, with Martín they were always called more, and with Peretti it was always talk about work: do you think this, the other?

When we got together to take the photo of the movie poster, which went everywhere, the group was reactivated a bit and

we created this WhatsApp group, something

we never wanted to have, where the five of us are (with Szifrón)”, says Fiore .

After the summer break, he'll shoot a movie and jump right into training for The Simulators.

--How do you prepare for the Simulators movie?

--First, in March, I'm going to film another movie in Chaco, which is two weeks.

Then I go back to something else, another film that is going to be made here with a director from Telefé who is going to make his first feature film and then it's training for Los Simuladores.

Because we all have to train to be physically fit.

In my case, because I'm going to do many things like the ones I did before and 20 years have passed, so I'm not ready to go hang gliding, or parachute, or anything like that.

Without tricks or green screens

, Fiore made Lampone crawling through tunnels and climbing Fitz Roy, among other adventures.

In many of them, he was accompanied by his unforgettable companion, Betún.

“I was a very keen dog and first the dog I had, whose name was Pacino, started working, but he only listened to me and if a technician came by he would go crazy.

So, I started working with Bitún, who was my dog's trainer's dog.

And I created such a great bond with Bitún…

I had joined so much that he already paid more attention to me than to his coach, ”says Fiore.

And he continues: “The first Simulators I had Bitún at home all the time.

And he drove him crazy.

He marked him with the laser and said: 'Bring me the butts, Bitún', 'Bring me the other', and he slept with my dog, both of us on the couch.

It was not a normal thing that I did and by joining so much that could be seen on the screen, where there was a situation in which we spoke without speaking to each other ”.

Bitún died at the age of 11 from liver cancer.

Fiore spends the summer between Pilar, where she rented a house, and Pinamar, where she approached to do a single performance of the play "La última vez", with Belén Santos and Mónica Salvador (author).

Alejandro Fiore is preparing for the recording this year of the film Los Simuladores.

-What is the work about?

-It has a bit of police and suspense, but in reality it is a work of gender violence that we have done once a month for ten years, except in the pandemic that we stopped, and that we have taken to prisons, police cadets or schools , with the aim of showing how difficult it can be to file a complaint, different forms of violence, what is abuse, psychological violence, physical violence.

-What returns do you receive?

-What the work itself has is that different things happen in each place.

So some begin to see it as humor, as something everyday and then at the end of the work there is absolute silence.

There is a lot of talk in the police about the importance of listening to the woman who makes a complaint.

Many times, we work with a psychologist or an NGO to set up a debate later.

-In general, there is a stereotype about where gender violence occurs, right?

-Yes, that's why this work is based on a middle or upper middle class family, where the husband doesn't use drugs or have money problems, because if he doesn't always end up stigmatizing what happens in the lower social classes.

In the upper social classes, the only thing that happens is that everything is easier to cover, hide and ignore.

The walls are thicker and you hear less.

We try to completely run the work of that place.

Both for me and for Mónica, this work is not going to make money but trying to do something social.

And we have received many requests for information.

That's what's important.

-In recent years, awareness of gender issues has changed a lot, how do you see Los Simuladores in that sense?

-Los Simuladores was the first television program that made a program of gender violence, made a program of abuse, made a program so that women did not have to undergo surgery.

It was a program that also touched the different social classes.

And we were working on this 21 years ago.
