Two boxing kangaroos have caused panic at a campsite on Australia's east coast.
The two animals were in the middle of a hearty fight when, in the heat of the moment, they crashed into a family tent, according to a video broadcast by 9 News on Tuesday.
As a result, a woman's terrified screams can be heard from inside the tent.
An eyewitness called out to her: "Keep your distance!" According to the broadcaster, the family was asleep in the tent when they were frightened by the animals.
The tussle of the kangaroos at the Trial Bay Gaol Campground ended lightly, at least for the vacationers.
No one was injured, reported 9 News.
The campsite is located almost 500 kilometers north of Sydney in the state of New South Wales.
The marsupials are believed to be fighting over a female, the Australian TV broadcaster said.
A fight for territory is also conceivable.
Normally, kangaroos are more peaceful animals.
However, when competitive, they can wrestle with each other extremely aggressively.
In addition to boxing, it can then also use violent kicks.
People should keep their distance from the wildlife spectacle.
Because in rare cases, the animals also attack people.
Last year there were several attacks by kangaroos that resulted in injuries:
In March 2022, a teenager in Victoria was riding her moped when a kangaroo suddenly jumped out of the woods and knocked her off the bike.
The 14-year-old was hospitalized for 10 days with injuries.
Also in March, a three-year-old girl was attacked by a kangaroo on her home property on the east coast.
In April, a woman was attacked and seriously injured by a kangaroo while playing golf in Queensland.
In September there was also the first fatality in more than 80 years: A 77-year-old man who kept a pet kangaroo was attacked and died from his injuries.
