The MotoGp world champion Francesco Bagnaia and his new teammate Enea Bastianini this morning unveiled the new Ducati Desmosedici that will participate in the 2023 MotoGP World Championship from the snow of Madonna di Campiglio. The Superbike Ducati was also unveiled with the riders Bautista and Rinaldi who will race for the Borgo Panigale team this season.
There was great expectation for Bagnaia's decision, who still had to choose whether to race with the number 1 reserved for world champions.
And 'Pecco' has finally revealed his choice, that is to compete with the number 1: "the choice of the number was quite a complicated one, but I'm happy with it. I made it last week during the photo shooting. The 63 remains , in the helmet, it's been a long time since one has been seen in MotoGP, it represents who you are and it was right to pay homage to what we did last year. I hope to see it on my bike as much as possible".
BAGNAIA: 'N.1 SAYS WHO YOU ARE, I WANT TO KEEP IT FOR A LONG TIME'
"The number 1 hasn't been seen on bikes for a long time, I've always admired those who rode with that number. The 1 represents who you are, and it was right to pay homage to the last year. My 63 will always be there, but I want to keep the 1 as much as possible."
This is how Francesco Bagnaia, reigning MotoGP world champion, explained his choice of the number that will be stamped on the fairing of the new Ducati for the 2023 World Championship, presented in Madonna di Campiglio
BASTIANINI: 'DUCATI RIDING RESPONSIBILITY IS IMPORTANT'
