The Tel Aviv District Planning and Construction Committee updates today (Tuesday) that it approves the Bnei Brak Municipality's plan to expand building permits on the roof of a residential house to an area of up to 60 square meters, in addition to a sukkah area of up to 8 square meters, to be built on the level below the roof floor .
The renewed plan changes the planning situation that exists today, which allows building attic rooms, including a sukkah, in an area of only 40 square meters.
This reality limited the realization of the use of the attic floor areas throughout the city, which is especially significant for families dealing with a lack of space - and in general for the city where The number of people per square meter is twice the national average.
Indeed, after the approval of the mayor's proposal, Rabbi Avraham Rubinstein, the proposal was approved by the municipal sub-committee and transferred to the Tel Aviv District Committee, which, as mentioned, approved the plan.
Currently, Bnei Brak is the only city in the district that will benefit from this relief.

The proposal, which will come into effect with its publication in the authorities in 15 days, is significant news for the city's residents, as it adds another layer to the relief of residential density.
It should be noted that after the plan goes into effect, a charge of an improvement levy may apply to property owners who make transactions or exercise rights according to the new plan.
The mayor of Bnei Brak, Rabbi Avraham Rubinstein,
said upon approving the plan: "Besides the development boom and the amazing construction revolution of thousands of housing units in the north of the city, Bnei Brak today took another significant step for the quality of life of its residents. At the end of a thorough and strenuous period of work, I am happy and congratulate The approval of the expansion of construction on the roof floors throughout the city, a plan approved by the district committee and is a breakthrough in the crowded city in Israel. Bnei Brak is the first in the region to bring about change in this area, as it shows creativity and responsibility for the residents of the city who are entitled to every effort to enjoy a more appropriate quality of life in a suitable and possible living space."
