New, hefty fines for the digital home delivery platform Glovo in Spain: fines totaling almost 57 million euros were imposed on the company, due to
irregularities found in the working relationships established with several of its 'riders' at Madrid
.
Various media report it, primarily Cadena Ser radio.
In particular, Glovo allegedly
abused the work of 'false VAT numbers' and foreign workers
in an irregular situation.
The news was in fact confirmed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Labor Minister, Yolanda Díaz.
"No company in Spain, large or small, will be able to remain on the sidelines of the law," Díaz told parliamentary reporters.
The company intends to
appeal
this decision, according to the Efe news agency.
Glovo has already been fined in the past in Spain for violations of labor legislation: according to national media, the total amount of the fines (including the latest ones) is
over 200 million euros
.
