The awards granted are defined from the millions of reviews sent to the platform in the last 12 months.
"We saw a
resurgence in travel demand
in 2022, and the outlook for this year is promising," said Sarah Firshein, editorial director of TripAdvisor.

In the United States, New York City is back on top after falling to number 5 last year as a result of the pandemic.

stands out as a Trend Destination (or fashion destination).
Known for its colonial architecture and rich history, the island offers fascinating opportunities for cultural exchange and excellent beaches.
Within this category, it is followed by
Hoi An
(Vietnam) and Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean.
It should be noted that
Asia
was the most trending region in this category, occupying half of the top 10 places.

Topics that stand out
Food, skiing, nature and culture
are other categories in which there are interesting destinations on the lips of travelers.
Rome took the top spot for dining destinations, while Whistler, Canada, stood out for ski destinations.
Mauritius, a tropical paradise island that belongs to Africa, is home to waterfalls, wildlife areas and national parks.
Another new category is Best Places for Culture.
The first place was for
Fez (Morocco)
, a walled city that is a World Heritage Site.
