Jacques, an inconsolable widower approaching his 80th birthday, is in a morose mood.
His daughter Isabelle, who can no longer see him hanging out on her sofa, ends up placing him in a retirement home in the Bay of Somme.
He takes this decision very badly but lights up when he meets Rose, a sunny and intrepid boarder of the same age as him, who will quickly seduce him.
Their romantic relationship, far from being platonic, will give the young lovers freshness and a feeling of freedom.
But they will find it difficult to impose their idyll in the face of a sanitized institution which tends to infantilize its subjects.
It is, in fact, all those around them who risk being shaken.

Seventh Heaven
depicts the story of a rebirth, at an age when the idea of the exaltation of the body has been abandoned.
Quirky and tender, the series questions desire and love between the elderly, taboo in our society, here boldly brought to the screen.
Created by Clémence Azincourt, with the participation of Alice Vial, who directed the 10 episodes of this first season,
Septième Ciel
was born from a personal story, when the author visited her own grandparents placed in EPHAD.
Far from the sordid place that she had imagined, Clémence Azincourt was flabbergasted when she realized that the residents had a sex life within the establishment.
In the casting, we find Sylvie Granotier in the role of Rose and Féodor Atkine in that of Jacques, but also Irène Jacob, Justine Lacroix or Jean-Louis Garçon.
Septième Ciel
received the distinction of the best series in 26 minutes at the last La Rochelle Fiction Festival.
Its 10 short 20-minute episodes have been available on OCS Max since January 19, 2023.
