Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson faces rape allegations.
A woman from the US state of New York has sued the former scandal boxer for an alleged sex offense in the early 1990s.
According to court documents, the plaintiff, who chose to remain anonymous at her own request, is demanding $5 million in damages from Iron Mike in the civil lawsuit initiated earlier this year.
According to an affidavit by the unnamed woman, she met the boxer in the early 1990s at a New York club called Septembers.
They celebrated that evening with one of their friends and Tyson's driver.
Crime scene: limousine
"Tyson told us about a party and invited us to come," the woman said.
When she got into the limousine with the athlete, he grabbed her and pressed her.
“I told him no several times and asked him to stop, but he kept attacking me.
Then he pulled down my pants and brutally raped me.«
"I still suffer from physical, psychological and emotional pain to this day," the plaintiff justified her claim for compensation for pain and suffering.
Tyson, now 56 years old, has not yet commented publicly on the allegations.
A temporary law in New York State allows victims of sexual offenses civil actions for damages regardless of criminal court orders on the merits or relevant statutes of limitations.
"Ear-biter" with relevant criminal records
Tyson was once the "enfant terrible" of the boxing scene, just as unforgettable as the youngest world champion of all classes at the age of 20, as well as the legendary "ear biter" in the title fight against his compatriot Evander Holyfield.
Tyson has a criminal record.
In 1992, a court sentenced him to six years in prison for rape, the second half of which was suspended after three years.
Prior to this case, Tyson had been accused of sexual harassment in 1987.
During his marriage to US actress Robin Givens in the late 1980s, he was repeatedly accused of domestic violence.
Later in his career, Tyson ran into more trouble with the law for a variety of reasons.
