The Ministry of Construction and Housing's contingency plan: "grandiose" activity in the rental market.

At a special meeting held today (Wednesday) at the initiative of Real Estate Media, led by real estate reporter Ofer Petersburg, Minister of Construction and Housing Yitzhak Goldknopf revealed the ministry's contingency plan and announced the establishment of a housing cabinet as early as this Sunday.

In an interview, the Minister of Construction and Housing, Yitzhak Goldknopf, announced that foreign investors are interested in the real estate market in Israel and are interested in entering and putting the money in tenders for rental housing.

"I estimate that more housing units will be built this year than in previous years," said the minister. from the solution and we have grandiose plans that include investments from Israel and abroad that want to enter this field. We are working and working on a special plan that will be good for contractors, entrepreneurs and investors so that we can provide many apartments for rent as well, as an agenda that every person in Israel will have a roof over their heads.

In addition, the Minister of Construction announced at the event that this coming Sunday, immediately after the cabinet meeting, a housing cabinet will be established that will unite all the ministries concerned with the issue, which will work even harder to remove barriers.

"The goal of the housing cabinet is to remove barriers," said Minister Goldknopf.

"This is part of the work that needs to start building. I discovered that there is a barrier that I did not recognize - mayors who are not interested in promoting construction. I am asking you, please lend a hand, I want to build for the citizens of Israel, the soldiers of the IDF, for disabled and broken people, these are our brothers.

I'll take care of incentives for you, but don't be a barrier"

Furthermore, the minister noted that "this week we released 6,500 apartments at a target price that received a discount and the ministry is working on releasing thousands more apartments that will receive a discount. We will continue with this doubling and reach a number of apartments this year that has not yet been in Israel. Together with my partners who have already put the dots on the map, Roof agreements have already been agreed with some of them. We are coming to bring salvation to all of Israel and we will make every effort wherever possible to erect buildings and apartments. I have come to be a minister equal to everyone in Israel."

"We have a war on this issue"

The event was attended by, among others, the CEO of the Israel Land Authority, Yankee Quint, partner and manager of the Foundations Fund, Yaakov Siso, the owner of 'Paz Erez Economics and Engineering', the appraiser and economist Daniela Paz-Eraz and mayors from the north to the south.

The meeting revealed, among other things, the differences of opinion between The various ministries to the Ministry of Finance.

The Director General of the Israel Land Authority, Yankee Quint

, said in this context, "Ultimately, the amounts that the state brings in from RMI tenders should be used for economic policy.

The state can influence the rental market, can influence public housing and urban renewal where there is no economic viability.

There is an argument with the Treasury on this issue.

We think we should use the land rewards, and today we are constantly reducing our room for maneuver."

In response to the claims of those present that the rewards from the RMI tenders should be transferred to the authorities, the Minister of Construction and Housing added, "We agreed to transfer NIS 30,000 from each unit in the city to the local authority, but the Treasury is opposed.

We have a war on this issue."

"The discounted plans have become a business"

The event was attended by

the Mayor of Nof HaGalil, Ronan Plot,

who spoke out against the government's discounted plans: "All the discounted plans, resident price and target price, have become a business, and that was not the goal. No one obliges those who won the lottery to live in the apartment they won , and therefore he can rent out the property and make a business out of it, a cash register for himself, and it comes at the expense of another family.

"The Ministry of Housing must put an end to it.

It can't be that someone who buys a discounted apartment, won't use it and will later earn 4 times. The winners should be required to live in the apartments they won, after all they got the apartment at a discount from the state."

Shay Abuhchira, CEO of Sela Binui,

called on the government to reward local authorities through RAMI rewards: "The state publishes a minimum price for the value of the land, but in practice entrepreneurs come and offer high prices and the state benefits from this. One of the barriers is city mayors. It is necessary that a certain percentage of the state's income from land will be transferred to the local authorities, who will be able to develop the city and, on condition, limit the authority to comply with the schedule for issuing building permits in order to speed up the rate of issuing permits.

That way, the money will go back to the public and environmental development."

Yigal Dimari, CEO and owner YH Dimari, said

, "The time has come for the state to sober up and give grants of a target price, or a price to the resident only in the periphery, not in Modi'in, not in Rishon, and not in Ashdod. In all places Those who will issue tenders at free market prices, who will pay as much as possible. The money that will come in will subsidize the periphery. That way, there won't be a story of a person who bought a discounted apartment in Modi'in and does business."
