2023-01-25T14:09:17.157Z

Transport, schools, energy… Several sectors will be on strike next Tuesday, responding to the call of the inter-union. Le Figaro takes stock.

The date is checked off on the union calendar.

On the evening of the first day of successful mobilization against the pension reform, last Thursday, the inter-union bringing together the eight main French centrals (CFDT, CGT, FO, CFE-CGC, CFTC, UNSA, Solidaires, FSU), as well as the student unions, called for a new day of demonstrations and interprofessional strikes on Tuesday 31 January.

Transport, schools, ski lifts…

In the transports

The four representative unions of the SNCF (CGT Cheminots, UNSA Ferroviaire, SUD-Rail, CFDT Cheminots) have called for a united strike on 31 January next.

The CGT Cheminots and SUD-Rail even encourage railway workers to “

act massively by striking

”.

It is still too early to know the state of rail traffic next Tuesday.

Forecasts will be provided by the SNCF 48 hours before, or in theory on Sunday.

On the Ile-de-France transport side, the RATP inter-union also called on Wednesday "

all the company's agents to express their refusal of this pension counter-reform by participating in the strike and the demonstration on Tuesday, January 31

" .

The unions also indicate that they have agreed "

to meet again from February 1 to agree on the follow-up to be given

".

In planes

In the aviation sector, the USACcgt, a major civil aviation union, “

has decided to fully subscribe to the unit day of mobilization on January 31,

” he wrote in a press release.

Consequently, he calls on all civil aviation personnel "

to go on strike massively and to participate in the demonstrations

".

The majority union SNCTA has not yet spoken, but there is a good chance that it will not call a strike, like what it did for the day of mobilization on January 19.

The General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) should communicate by Sunday on the possible impact of this strike on air traffic.

in education

In national education, the unions are also calling for the continuation on January 31 of the movement started on January 19.

The union federations of education, higher education and research "

call on the staff to amplify the strike on January 31 to obtain the withdrawal

" of the reform, we read in a joint press release from the inter-union.

The date of January 31 must be even stronger than January 19,

” she adds.

On January 19, according to the Ministry of Education, 42.35% of teachers were on strike in primary schools and 34.66% in secondary schools.

SUD Education even calls for a "

renewable strike from January 31

".

in the energy

The energy branch of the CGT (FNME-CGT) calls on its agents to go on strike and demonstrate on January 31.

We are building a January 31 even stronger than the 19

”, has already announced the federal secretary of the FNME-CGT, Fabrice Coudour.

But the federation does not wish to limit itself to this date.

"

For energy, through the renewable strike, we are calling for slightly stronger moments on the days of January 26 and 27 and February 6, 7 and 8,

" he said.

Days which correspond to those of the future strike movements announced by the oil companies, in particular in the refineries.

The CGT oil has indeed already notably called for a strike this Thursday, January 26 for a period of 48 hours.

This could lead to “

decreases in flow

” and “

the stoppage of shipments

”, Eric Sellini, national coordinator of the union for TotalEnergies, told AFP.

In ski resorts

Ski resorts should also be affected by the January 31 strike.

The two main unions of ski lift employees, Force Ouvrière (FO) and the CGT, have filed a strike notice for January 31.

Although

“unlimited”

, this strike notice does not mean that ski lift employees will not return to work.

“The lifts will operate normally from the next day: we do not want to further weaken companies already in difficulty

,” said Eric Becker, general secretary of the ski lifts at FO.

This notice is actually intended to

"allow seasonal workers to participate in the next day of mobilization against the pension reform (after that of January 31), which should be decided for a day in February",

he specified.

This strike announced for January 31 should thus be almost invisible for skiers.

The Minister Delegate for Tourism Olivia Grégoire called on France Bleu Pays de Savoie on Tuesday "

for respect for tourists' holidays but also for respect for all the work done by the economic players in the mountains

".
