A man was shot dead by a dog in a tragic incident in the United States.
The animal was in the back seat of a car during a hunting trip, the police in the state of Kansas said on Tuesday.
"Hunting material and a gun" were also found in the back seat.
The dog "stepped on the gun and fired a shot."
According to the information, a 30-year-old man was hit.
He was sitting in the passenger seat of the car and sustained a gunshot wound in his back.
He died on the spot.
The incident happened around 9:40 a.m. local time on Saturday morning.
"The investigation is still ongoing, but according to all available information it was a hunting accident," the police said.
She did not say whether the fatality was the dog's owner.
