Pope Francis reiterates that, for the Church, homosexuality is a “sin”

“It is also a sin to lack charity towards one another,” Pope Francis noted in an interview, calling on priests

Being homosexual is a “sin”, Pope Francis reaffirmed on Tuesday in an interview with the American press agency Associated Press, while denouncing the “injustice” of laws criminalizing homosexuality around the world.

Being homosexual “is not a crime.

Yes, but it is a sin,” noted Pope Francis, in statements spotted by BFMTV.

“It is also a sin to lack charity towards one another,” Pope Francis noted.

And the pontiff called on priests supporting anti-LGBTQ laws and in favor of discrimination against LGBTQ people to be more "tender, as God has done for each of us" and called on them to initiate "a process of conversion”.

Pope Francis' statement is not a surprise, it is in line with the line of the Catholic Church.

As BFMTV reminds us, the Vatican had already defined homosexuality as a “sin”.

“God never stops blessing each of his sons (…).

But he neither blesses nor can bless sin,” he answered the question, “Does the Church have the power to bless same-sex unions?

".
