Avocados are healthy and you need the fruit for many recipes.
But what if the flesh has turned red?
The avocado is now part of the weekly or even daily menu for many people.
The fruit, which is botanically a laurel plant and grows on trees, is not only good in salads, in sushi or in poké bowls - many love avocados processed in smoothies or in pesto.
But what to do if, when you cut it open, you find that red spots have formed in the flesh of the fruit?

Brown spots on avocados indicate that the fruit is overripe and should be eaten as soon as possible unless it is too late and mold has started to form.

When you cut open avocados, you're usually touching the stone, which can turn the flesh red,

This process does not make the pulp dangerous to eat;
however, the spot where the avocado turned red may taste bitter.
So it makes sense to remove the spots not only for visual reasons.

Tannins are tannins found in the leaves, seeds and bark of almost all plants.
They are not harmful, but stimulate digestion.
Only people with tannin intolerance should therefore avoid certain foods.
