(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 26 - 80% of Italians who invest their money consider the management of personal finances "complex" "primarily due to the uncertain context and rising prices".
65% seem to understand the effects of inflation, which shot up to 12.3% at the end of 2022. But among investors who prefer to hold their savings in a current account (21%) and among those who indicate inflation as a factor making it difficult to manage personal finances (21%), more than a third and about a quarter respectively do not understand the impact of rising prices on their purchasing power.
This is what emerges from the Consob Report on the investment choices of Italian households 2022, which is based on a survey carried out on a representative sample of Italian investors.
Although growing slightly, financial knowledge is still not sufficiently widespread either with respect to the basic concepts (for example, the notion of investment diversification is understood by only 50% of the interviewees) or with respect to financial instruments (the share of correct answers to questions on the current account , stocks, bonds and mutual funds remains below 60%) nor with respect to the size of financial risk (in particular, the percentage of respondents who are familiar with the notions of credit, market and liquidity risk fluctuates between 20% and 49%).
