Eva Green became world famous with James Bond. Did she derail a film project in 2019? The producers presented exalted swearing messages. The actress is not aware of any guilt - and wants her money.

"Casino Royale" star Eva Green is fighting in a British court for her millions of dollars for a film that was ultimately not made.

In the trial, which began in London on Thursday, the French actress, known from the 2006 Bond film, is demanding her fee of one million dollars from the British production company White Lantern Films.

The shooting of the science fiction film "A Patriot" was canceled in October 2019.

Green takes the view that there is nothing she can do to end the project and that she is still entitled to her fee.

The production company, for its part, sued Green because the 42-year-old had harmed the film project with "unreasonable demands".

Green's attorney, Edmund Cullen, told the court Thursday that the actress "benign over backwards" to get the film made.

After all, it should be about a topic that the actress is "very worried about, namely the climate catastrophe".

Green has accepted the repeated postponement of the start of filming and the relocation of filming from Ireland to Great Britain and even offered to use part of her fee to cover production costs.

"Insidious Sociopath", "Consummate Asshole"

White Lantern Films' attorneys countered that Green had expressed a "lack of trust and dissatisfaction" with the production team and had become "more and more reluctant" to commit to the film project as stipulated in her contract.

The production company's legal team cites WhatsApp messages in which Green is said to have dubbed a member of the production team "diabolical", "insidious sociopath" and a crazy "liar".

She also called production manager Terry Bird a "fool" and a "complete asshole".

Green's lawyer firmly rejected the allegations.

The other side is about “presenting my client as a diva in order to make headlines and damage her reputation”.

In fact, the 42-year-old has not missed a single day of shooting during her 20-year career.

"Guardian" author Stuart Heritage, on the other hand, sees Eva Green's text messages in a completely different light.

For him, Green's contempt is palpable in the messages - "and isn't that what we expect from a movie star?" Even better would be just "to learn that she dictated the news from a velvet chaise longue to a trembling assistant" because she couldn't bring herself to type such words herself.
