The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, met the Minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio, at Palazzo Chigi to discuss the next measures on the subject of justice.
Palazzo Chigi communicates it.
"Giving citizens fair and speedy justice is an absolute priority of this government and a commitment we have made with the Italians. We are determined to keep it as soon as possible", declares President Meloni.
'Before the reforms we will listen to the togas'
- "Every future reform before being entrusted to the evaluations of the sovereign Parliament, will be composed by listening to all the voices of the justice system, from the lawyers to the academy and the judiciary".
This was stated
by the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio
at the inauguration of the judicial year, underlining that the autonomy and independence of the judiciary constitute "a pillar of our democracy, guaranteed by the Constitution. They are mandatory principles, which have accompanied all my long professional activity in the Prosecutor's Office. If I hadn't believed and if I didn't believe in their sacredness, I would not have dressed the toga, as I hope I have, with dignity and honor," he added.
Anm, good words Nordio, optimistic about constructive dialogue
- "I was pleased with these words of the minister who recognized the inviolability of a principle, the autonomy and independence of the judiciary, which must be ensured whatever the structure of the reform one looks at. If we find ourselves on the principles, I can only be happy and optimistic that the dialogue and confrontation, which I hope the minister will also want to have with us, can only mark a moment of construction", commented the
president of the ANM Giuseppe Santalucia
