40.3% of Italians have blocked at least one member of their family on Facebook.
One of the main reasons is that of wanting to hide one's private life (35.1%), followed by considering posts published by relatives annoying or irrelevant (29.3%), or being tagged in content that does not interest one (16 .6%).
It is the result of a survey by the Italian agency Time2Play.
Among this 40.3%, it emerged that 58.3% of this percentage decided to unfollow, hide or pause at least one of their relatives, while 13.3% of them decided to block one or more family members immediately after an event, a holiday or a family celebration, such as Christmas or a birthday.
Other reasons for blocking or hiding family members on Facebook are: posting hate-based content (16.1%), conflicting political opinions with one's own (12.7%) and posting too much religious content (11.1%) .
Furthermore, for Time2Play, 27.4% of Italians with an Instagram profile blocked at least one relative, while 19.4% stated that their family members do not use Instagram.
33.6% of respondents said they hid or paused posts from their relatives.
13.3% did it immediately after a holiday.
