On January 26, 2018, Flybondi, the first low cost airline in the country, made its first commercial flight between the cities of Córdoba and Puerto Iguazú.
And today it
celebrates its five years
of operations in Argentina with data that is encouraging for the company:
4 out of every 10 passengers
in Argentina already fly by low cost airlines.
“We started operations 5 years ago with the purpose of giving the
freedom to fly
.
The goal was ambitious but we were convinced that it would be possible, and so it was and we even surpassed it," said Mauricio Sana, CEO of Flybondi.
And he added: "This anniversary allows us to renew our commitment to the country because we are a company that is a source of work, that invests and that is determined to continue transforming the commercial aviation market in Argentina and the region."

Promotional flights to celebrate
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Flybondi launched a
promotion for all its domestic routes
with rates from $5,555 (final rate per leg) to fly from March to June 2023.
Currently, the company flies to 17 national destinations and 3 international destinations, with 22 routes (17 domestic to and from Buenos Aires, 2 interprovincial and 3 international), with a fleet of 12 aircraft.
In a search for specific flights with a promotional rate, there are tickets to
Bariloche
in April for some dates and to Córdoba in March, there are several options.
On the other hand, for El Calafate there is nothing between March and June for that price: the cheapest is a ticket (section) for $8,847 at the end of May.
Nor does Ushuaia have promotional rates available at the time of the search.
Mendoza
has some departures in March and some in April for $5,555, while for
Puerto Iguazú
, most of the promotional fares appear in May and June.
It is a matter of searching the calendar according to the chosen destination and the date.

The growth of the low cost
According to the December 2022 National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) Monthly Report, Flybondi has a
21% national market share
.
This implies a growth of 12 points in relation to 2019.
Regarding the
international market,
it increased 1.5 points since in December 2022 it obtained 5% and in 2019, 3.5%.
Being the first low cost company in the country, Flybondi caused a
revolution in the aviation sector
due to its business model that aimed to guarantee "the lowest costs in the region, through an efficient, safe and simple operation, thus democratizing transport aerial".
