Crime scene in Bad Mergentheim: brutal attack on senior citizen

In Bad Mergentheim, Baden-Württemberg, a magistrate has placed a 14-year-old in pre-trial detention.
The youth is charged with assault resulting in death, the police said.
According to earlier reports, the 14-year-old suddenly ran towards the 78-year-old senior on Monday evening and pushed her off her bike.
The woman suffered such severe head injuries in the fall that she died in the hospital on Wednesday night.
The suspect was taken to a correctional facility.
The investigations continued.
The teenager is said to have been on the other side of the street and then ran towards the cyclist.
Witnesses saw him attack the woman.
According to the police, the teenager tried to flee, but was arrested soon after the attack at the Bad Mergentheim bus station.
