The body of the 69-year-old woman, who went missing since Monday in Montecopiolo, in the Rimini Apennines, has been identified, but has not yet been recovered.
The woman allegedly slipped in an inaccessible area, quite far from her home, and perhaps she, unable to move or ask for help, then died of the cold.
The abundant snow that has fallen in recent days would then have hidden the body from the search teams, until this afternoon when it was identified by a team from the Guardia di Finanza.
To find it, six soldiers and two dogs, coming from the S.AG.F.
of Abetone, Antrodoco and Roccaraso.
The search operations were coordinated by the Prefecture of Rimini with the use of units of the Fire Brigade, the Alpine Rescue, the Civil Protection, the Carabinieri of Novafeltria and therefore the specialists of the Guardia di Finanza.
The firefighters in particular also searched for the woman with the SAPR team (remotely piloted aircraft systems) for overflights in the area with a drone.
At the moment it is not clear whether she will be able to recover her body, starting this evening.
The woman was a retired psychologist from Bologna who had been living in Montecopiolo for a few years.
