The appeal with which the former premier Silvio Berlusconi contested the civil sentence to compensate the former prosecutor of Milan Guido Robledo with 50 thousand euros for defamation damages was rejected by the Cassation, as established by the Brescia Court of Appeal in 2020 .
The facts date back to 2006 when, during a press conference, the then Prime Minister accused the prosecutors of the Mills trial of having refused "to issue the correct rogatory" in the Bahamas which, according to him, would have denied them and defined them as "magistrates unworthy who with the money of the Italians are plotting against the prime minister in the midst of the electoral campaign".
