On the occasion of 'Remembrance Day', the FIGC remembers the victims of the Shoah with a communication campaign on its social channels, reaffirming the commitment of the football movement against all forms of racial discrimination.
"Remembrance Day must also be the day of responsibility - said the president Gabriele Gravina - especially for the world of football which, with its various components and in its many dimensions, is daily committed to enhancing the values of respect, of brotherhood and inclusion. Let's take the field to cultivate memory, so that the horror of discrimination and anti-Semitism no longer finds citizenship in our society, starting from the stadiums".
"Let's say enough to the chants, enough to the display of racist symbols and enough to the offenses that humiliate human dignity - continues Gravina -; mine is a heartfelt appeal to all the institutions and clubs, which must be at the forefront to counter these phenomena, but also to the majority of respectable fans, who must begin to dissociate themselves when such unfortunate events occur. As the FIGC, we are engaged in a complex process of cultural renewal by placing education and training at the center of our message, starting from football schools. To make the most of this path, it is my intention to share further paths with the representatives of the Jewish community".
