(ANSA) - BEIJING, JAN 29 - China said it recorded a sharp decline in new Covid-related deaths during the Lunar New Year, despite an expected holiday spike in travel and an increase in the likelihood of further infections across the country.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported in the evening that 6,364 deaths in hospitals nationwide were linked to the virus between January 20 and 26, almost half of the previous week: in detail, 289 were deaths from insufficiency respiratory and 6,075 those affecting people infected with other underlying diseases.
