won the 2023 Australian Open. In the final played in Melbourne she defeated Elena Rybakina, a Russian naturalized Kazakh, in three sets with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in 2h28' of game.
For Sabalenka it is the first title of the Grand Slam circuit.
Current world No. 5, Sabalenka (24), won her first Grand Slam title in Australia and will regain second place in the world from Monday, the best ranking of her career.
Rybakina, 23 years old and last year's Wimbledon champion, will rise to 10th place in the WTA ranking, also her best ranking ever.
