As a precaution, a frozen pizza manufacturer recalls its product and warns against consumption – the pizza could contain wire.
Munich – Frozen pizza is often used for a quick meal – it’s quick and tasty.
But caution is required now.
Because the manufacturer HASA GmbH started a goods recall, reports the portal

It cannot be ruled out that individual packages contain wire.
Recall: Mondo Italiano stone oven pizza affected
Specifically, the recall concerns the Mondo Italiano stone oven pizza Funghi (2x 365 gram pack) deep-frozen with the best before date August 28th, 2023.
This is noted on the side of the pack.
The reason for the recall is preventive consumer protection, as some products may contain wire.
The stone-oven pizza with the mentioned best-before date was offered nationwide in branches of the Netto Marken-Discount.
The portal names Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Schleswig-Holstein as the federal states affected.
The goods have already been withdrawn from sale.
Other sell-by dates and Mondo Italiano items are not affected.

Frozen pizza recall: customers get a refund
The manufacturer warns against eating the frozen pizza.
Products with the said best-before date can be returned to the store and the full price will be refunded - even without presenting the receipt.
HASA GmbH states that their customer service is available 24 hours a day for further questions.
Recall due to risk of injury: Foreign objects in food are not uncommon
As a precaution, the manufacturer advises against eating the pizza.
Wire in the pizza can lead to injuries in the mouth and throat or internal injuries, among other things.
It happens again and again that foreign bodies get lost in food.
Plastic parts were recently found in a Lidl frozen product.
In this case, the danger also comes from harmful plasticizers.
The product was also recalled.
In most cases, these are recalls of preventive consumer protection in order to prevent health consequences.
