A police officer in Berlin shot the aggressive dog of a drunk owner with a submachine gun.

The animal and another dog attacked each other in Invalidenpark on Saturday, the Berlin police said on Sunday.

The German shepherd mix attacked and bit the other dog several times.

The 28-year-old owner was apparently very drunk and tried in vain to hold her dog and fell several times.

She is said to have kicked the animal several times.

As a result, the mongrel became more and more aggressive and finally bit the 34-year-old owner of the other dog.

He tried to separate the animals from each other.

When the alarmed police officers approached, the dog ran towards them.

One of the police officers shot the dog several times with a submachine gun.

He died shortly afterwards from gunshot wounds.

According to the police, the 28-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with head injuries and then to a psychiatric clinic.

The attacked dog and its 34-year-old owner suffered bite wounds.
