According to what has been reconstructed so far, as soon as the breakdown occurred - it seems there was a breakdown in the control apparatus - the captain ordered the engine room to immediately reverse and the bridge to immediately lower the two bow anchors to stop the 'heading of the ferry, alongside pier number 3 from the stern.
The maneuver made it possible to limit the impact against the quay and the impact was light.
