The district court in Rishon Lezion approved today (Sunday) for couples who were treated at Asuta Hospital in the city to undergo compatibility tests for the disputed baby.
The district discussed the appeal filed by the birth mother and her husband on a previous decision of the Magistrate's Court and, as mentioned, did not accept the appeal.
The Peace Court rejected the recommendation of the legal guardians appointed for baby Sofia, according to which it should be determined already now that the mother and her partner will be the ones to raise her.
The judge even criticized the fact that in their recommendation the legal guardians exceeded the mandate given to them by the court.
This decision was appealed by the parents holding the girl.
The attorney office of Caspi Seror & Co. and the office of Shmuel Moran submit: The district court, in an important, thorough and reasoned ruling, ordered genetic testing for five couples and a single patient in order to locate the genetic parents.
This is the fifth judgment in a row that accepts our claims and states that the best interest of the minor requires the clarification of genetic parentage, and in addition - that it is the right of the patients, our clients, who were treated at Assuta in close proximity to the birth mother - to know whether it is their home.
