Rami and the Ministry of Health report on the promotion of the planning of three significant plans in the field of the health system in the North District - for the consolidation and expansion of two existing hospitals and the establishment of a new rehabilitation hospital.



According to the report, the plans propose the consolidation and expansion of the Feda-Foria hospitals in Tiberias and Ziv in Safed, as well as the establishment of a new rehabilitation hospital in Karmiel. The plans include the addition of approximately 820 inpatient beds in Feda-Puria and an increase in construction rights to approximately 294,000 square meters, an addition of approximately 800 inpatient beds in Ziv and an increase in construction rights to approximately 280,000 square meters and the establishment of about 350 rehabilitation beds in the new hospital in Karmiel, with a variety of medical services in an area of ​​about 40 thousand square meters.



Also, the plan offers an addition of hundreds of thousands of square meters for the hospitalization wards and a variety of medical services, including areas for logistics, administration and commerce. The details of the plan for each individual hospital will be presented later in the article.

A program that covers an area of ​​about 250 dunams, and deals with increasing the number of hospitalization beds from about 300 beds today - to a total of about 1,120 hospitalization beds.

Furthermore, the plan adds and increases the building rights to a total of 294,000 square meters, increasing the supply of functions and departments required to establish a health center - internal medicine, cancer department, heart and brain center, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, along with administrative buildings, logistics and related commercial areas.

Expansion plan for Ziv Hospital in Safed

The plan covers an area of ​​about 285 dunams and offers an addition of about 800 hospitalization beds to about 330 hospitalization beds today, that is, about 1,060 hospitalization beds in total.


The planning proposes an increase to a total of approximately 280,000 square meters and the provision of health services, which include: internal medicine, a cancer center, pediatrics, women's and obstetrics, a brain center, paramedical services, sports medicine, a research development and innovation center, to which logistics areas will be added , faculty residences and approximately 1,000 square meters of commercial space.


The district committee decided to deposit the plan and it will be published for deposit during the coming months.

Plan for a new rehabilitation hospital in Karmiel

The Israel Land Authority is initiating, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Karmiel Municipality, the establishment of a new rehabilitation hospital in the city that will serve the residents of the north.



The plan covers about 90 dunams, and includes the construction of a new rehabilitation hospital with about 350 rehabilitation beds on a total area of ​​about 39,000 square meters built (in phase I) and in phase II 450 beds with additional medical services in an area of ​​about -64,000 square meters.



The hospital will include departments such as: geriatrics, ventilated patients, dialysis, complex nursing care, a rehabilitation center, a therapeutic pool, a gymnasium, a hotel, employee dormitories and areas for logistics and administration.

In accordance with future medical needs, an increase and addition of beds will be considered in phase B.
