Ten to fifteen glasses per week
By doing the math, Lucile Woodward estimates that she drank ten to fifteen glasses of alcohol per week.
"It's hard to recognize that there is a problem," she told HuffPost.
Everyone tells me ''but no it's fine, you drink but not that much''.
I don't end up ultra-drunk every night, but over the whole week, it's a substantial and risky consumption.
In a previous article, Mickael Naassila, president of the French Society of Alcoholism, warned precisely about this normalization of alcohol consumption.
According to data from the Public Health France 2017 barometer, nearly one in two French people think that offering alcohol or drinking it “is part of the rules of good manners”.
A false and above all harmful received idea, lamented the specialist, who underlined the urgency of moving away from this ritualization and harmful consumption patterns.
“If I had a hard time refusing a drink, if I consume alcohol and increase the quantities to seek intoxication, a sedative effect and/or to socialize more, this should alert us and invite us to moderate us”, summed up the president of the French Society of Alcoholism.
Overcome social pressure
This social pressure, Lucile Woodward confides precisely fear of not exceeding it.
"It's hard to say that I don't want to drink when I arrive at a party," she admits to HuffPost.
I'm afraid of losing my friends, my nice side, good life, of no longer being the girl we invite because she knows how to party..."
The coach is however determined to go after his challenge.
And the changes observed in his mood in just two weeks have only reinforced his motivation: "my level of patience has increased enormously, especially with my children, I am more present for myself too", assures you. -she.
In a video posted on her Instagram account on January 13, the former science journalist had already spoken of her commitment to her 263,000 subscribers.
“I have a problem with alcohol.
I drink, I drink too much,” she admitted.
Lucile Woodward defends on a daily basis the importance of sport and a balanced and vegetable diet to live longer and in better health.
Sports routine, vegetable menus, quitting smoking... The professional says she has "reached a sort of level of well-being".
The last one, which is stopping alcohol, is one of the hardest for her, but she says: "I'm leaving knowing I can do it".
