A cyclist was hit by a truck at an intersection in Hamburg's HafenCity on Monday.
She was injured so badly that she died at the scene of the accident.
This was announced by a police spokesman.
According to initial findings, the 33-year-old woman apparently wanted to cycle on Überseeallee in the direction of Am Sandtorpark.
The 56-year-old truck driver was to her left at the time of the accident.
Both were green
For reasons that have not yet been clarified, the man is said to have run over and fatally injured the cyclist with his dump truck when turning right.
According to the current status of the investigation, both had green.
The 33-year-old was trapped under the truck.
The ambulance service arrived quickly.
But the helpers could do nothing more for them.
Passers-by who had observed the incident and the truck driver were cared for by the German Red Cross crisis intervention team.
The police are now looking for witnesses .
