In France, a pregnant woman gave birth to her son on a train. The labor had caught her by surprise. The train therefore made an unscheduled stop at Metz.

Apparently little Félix was in a hurry: because his mother went into labor on the ICE train from Paris to Stuttgart, the responsible train attendants decided to make a spontaneous stopover.

The train came to a halt on Sunday morning at Lorraine TGV station near Metz, the newspaper Les Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace reported.

Rescue workers helped the woman give birth on the train, which meant that she had to wait 80 minutes in the station for little Félix to see the light of day.

The mother and child then went to the hospital in Metz while the train continued its journey.
