Jenna Ortega has received critical acclaim for dancing to the rockabilly classic "Goo Goo Muck" by The Cramps on the TV series "Wednesday," which hit Netflix in late 2022.
But the young actress didn't forget to mention the original Wednesday Addams actress as an inspiration.
Because Lisa Loring had the Addams daughter dance impressively.
The original series The Addams Family was based on cartoons published in The New Yorker by artist Charles Addams.
The family series became a milestone in black humor on television.
The always bad-tempered daughter played child model Lisa Loring.
Now the former child star has died, according to US media.
Lisa Loring suffered a fatal stroke, her daughter told the industry journal Variety on Sunday evening.
Loring was 64 years old.
Loring, who was born in the Marshall Islands as the daughter of two members of the US Navy, acted in other series after »The Addams Family« (»The Pruitts of Southampton«, »As the World Turns«) and had roles in B films.
She caused a stir in the US in 1987 when porn actor Jerry Butler became her third husband.
Lisa Loring met him when she worked as a make-up assistant in a film production company.
The marriage lasted until 1992;
Loring married a fourth time in 2003.
Loring's friend Laurie Jacobson wrote on Facebook: "She will always be Wednesday Addams in our hearts." The black-and-white series was also shown in West Germany from the 1970s.
In November 2022, the Netflix streaming service released a new series specifically about the character Wednesday.
The eight-part series was the number one Netflix series for weeks and set streaming records.
Lead actress Jenna Ortega has been one of social media's favorite topics at times.
